Convict Love Token - 1818 - Mary Kelly
This token may relate to James Kelley, 17, who was tried and convicted at Middlesex Gaol Delivery on 28 October 1818 for the theft of a lead pump, the property of Thomas Payne. In his defence, Kelley stated: My young master asked me to carry it. He was sentenced to seven years' transportation, and sailed for New South Wales on the Granada in May 1819.
