Noah Shreeve was a commission salesman, storekeeper and importer of fancy goods, and his address was 2 Robe Terrace, Weymouth Street. The earliest mention of Shreeve found in this survey was from 1862, when his name was listed in the Adelaide Almanac, at the address given above. In 1870 he ventured into the city and had his business listed at 129 Rundle Street. The following year he had returned to 2 Robe Terrace.

Shreeve was also the author of a 46 page pamphlet A short history of South Australia. Neither the year that Shreeve issued his tokens, nor the name of the maker who struck them for him, is known.
