Queen Elizabeth II first appeared in 1953 on our coinage following the death of her father in 1952. The last florins, shillings and sixpences were struck in 1963. For the years 1953 and 1954, the obverse legend was: ELIZABETH . II. DEI. GRATIA. REGINA + This was changed to: ELIZABETH . II. DEI. GRATIA. REGINA. F: D: + from 1955 to 1963.
