This 1999 Masterpieces in Silver Coin Set is one of 15,000 legal tender coin sets minted by the Royal Australian Mint. The coins' reverses are representations of original pre-decimal designs, while the obverse of each coin carries the new portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The finished product has a flat mirror-like surface complemented by a delicately frosted raised design and is struck to the Mint's strict quality guidelines.
Mintage: 15 000sets. Metal: Fine Silver (99.9%). 5c: 5.53 grams, 25 mm. 10c: 8.36 grams, 30 mm. 20c: 2.99 grams, 17.53 mm. 50c: 3.24 grams, 19.41 mm. $1: 6.57 grams, 23.6 mm. 5c: 13.36 grams, 28.52 mm.
